Welcome to the first issue of Four Lakes Voices! Our goal is to provide news, analysis, and opinion about a wide variety of issues, on a weekly basis, facing the Four Lakes Region - Madison, Dane County, and the surrounding area. We have an impressive group of contributors already lined up - experts in local, state, and federal government, as well as vital issues. For too long there has been a dearth of information people could rely on to understand and dissect issues and events in our area. We hope you find it valuable and share it with your friends — please help us grow our reach!
Why Four Lakes Voices?
The area around Madison, Wisconsin historically has been known for our major lakes - Lake Mendota, Lake Monona, Lake Waubesa, and Lake Kegonsa. Though based in Madison, we chose this name for our newsletter because we want to encourage conversations about issues that affect our region of the state – not just Madison. |  |
What are we going to do?
Our goal is to publish weekly emails with information, analysis, and opinion on local issues. As we’ve mentioned, we have a great group of contributors already lined up. In the future, we’d like to invite guest writers to share their opinions too - more details on how to do that will be available as we grow. Our goal is to build a vibrant community that is knowledgeable and engaged.
Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light.
Finally, we believe that freedom of speech is the cornerstone of democracy. The free flow of information is critical to being an informed voter and to understand the issues of our day. We strive to provide insight and analysis on a wide range of issues but you, our readers, ultimately decide what to do with that information.
